THE SAFE ROUTES APP

This Apple iOS '“app” is designed to facilitate a secure and efficient transportation system for children commuting to and from school. Key features of the app include mapping, navigation, student photographs, and parental notifications to inform guardians when their children board or disembark from the bus. Importantly, the app is compatible with any student information system.

• To ensure safety, no student will be dropped off at an incorrect stop, as designated stops are accompanied by visual identification.

• Parents receive real-time notifications when their child enters or exits the bus, triggered by the driver clicking on the corresponding photograph.

This initiative is funded by the SDE School Security Grant. While Safe Routes provides the necessary devices, they do not supply cellular service for these units.

The application is developed by Five Pack, based in Bixby, OK.
